About Diane Wolfe Marlin

I grew up on a farm in LaSalle County, Illinois and have lived in Urbana since 1971.  I earned a BS in Human Development and an MS in Foods and Nutrition from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.  I worked as a Registered Dietitian and Affiliate Faculty member at Parkland College and retired from the University of Illinois as Coordinator of Research Programs in the Family Resiliency Center.   I was elected to the Urbana City Council in 2009 and re-elected in 2013.

My husband, John, and I have two grown children who attended Coop Nursery School, Leal School, Urbana Middle School, and Urbana High School.  We have owned and managed rental property in Urbana since 1977.  We also propagate native woodland wildflowers and make them available to local schools, parks, and homeowners interested in sustainable landscaping.  In my spare time,  I enjoy photography, gardening, biking, cooking, and traveling.   But, most of all,  I love being "Grandma" to my two grandsons!
